I am Sunny Dada
Afrokokoroot is a 12-piece band, featuring a four-man horns section, two dancers/backup vocalist, drummer, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, percussionist, and Sunny Dada on lead vocals, percussions, dancer, arranger, composer, and director.

Nigerian multi-instrumentalist Sunny Ebenezer Dada has been performing since the age of 4 and studied Music Business at the Bohai Univesity Jingzhou China.
He was the first African to bring Afrobeat to China, and has worked with the Chinese Government to teach African culture and music to students in its Government schools. He has performed China’s biggest festivals and events including Midi Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival and the 2008 Beijing Olympics (opening through to closing ceremonies). And he is the only African to have performed with the Chinese National Symphony Orchestra. It is no surprise that in China he has being referred to as the ‘Godfather of Afrobeat.’
His unique percussive and vocal performance has seen him feature on line-ups of major festivals all over the world including WOMADelaide (AUS), Homegrown (NZ), Teuila Festival (Samoa), Â Rio Music Carnival (Brazil), Soul Music Beach Festival (Aruba), Oppikoppi-Limpopo (SA), Field Day (Eng), Montreux Oniria Festival (Switzerland), Â Sunsplash Reggae Festival (Israel), Montreal Jazz Festival (CAN), Seoul Jazz festival (South Korea), Itadaki Music festival (JAP), and Mother Of All Hangs (US), amongst others.
Internationally he has worked with Stevie Wonder, Jackie Chan, Jiangkemei, Cui Jian, Orlando Julius Ekemode, Osibisa Mactontoh, just to name a few.
He has travelled to over 70 countries throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Caribbean and the South Pacific as a performer (percussion/vocals/band leader/dancer), teacher, songwriter/composer, producer, and arranger.
Sunny has worked with many charity and non-profit organizations including UN Refugee, Unicef, Red Cross, NGO; as well as having organised his own charity concerts where the proceeds were donated to various charity organizations.

Turner Hamilton is a freelance saxophonist and educator located in the Nashville area who has performed, recorded, and taught professionally since 2016.
Turner is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he studied with jazz legends Don Aliquo and Jamey Simmons.
Aside from performing with Afrokokoroot and various other projects, he currently serves as Assistant Band Director at Oliver Middle School.

Nashville native Grant Alan is a multi-instrumental artist, bassist, and session musician.
Mentored by Grammy winning bass players such as Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, UFO, David Lee Roth, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan), Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, SMV), and Otiel Burbridge (Allman Brothers, Dead and Company), Grant is simply passionate about the joy of working with other artists to make great music sound even better.
He currently performs in bands NGC 4414, Drifters In Vellichor, Abated Mass of Flesh, and Afrokokoroot—as well as his own experimental ambient project called The North Pacific.
